Death is imminent

Death has laid his icy hand regardless of race, creed, religion, sexual identity and wealth. It’s a universal truth that one can never elude from its occurrence. Within two consecutive years, I have lost four great souls whom I consider more than friends but not less than brothers. Death has befall agony in the lives of many families and destitute among society. It has even taken loved ones leaving behind only the footprints. Most of them left the world before seeing better half of their stay in the world. For some, they left without contemplating the meaning of life and dreams discontented. We can experience death in hospital with numerous patients in plight wishing to live for more.

If death does not accept any amnesty, I foresee no purpose in living a life with voracity and wealth which is insatiable. Despite knowing the fact that everyone has to go through it, we opt for avenues and materialistic mind. To satiate our desires, we land up losing our best moments being human. Having luxurious living style does not suffice our living. We tend to have more. We opt for land, building and an account that weighs quite heavy. In search of deceptive wants, we lose the meaning of life.

For these reasons, I want to live a life as it has to be. Never to bewildered with the concept of “needs” and “wants”.  Take a profession that you wish for. Accumulate more needs rather than craving for more wants. I wish to do things that give me meaning in life. Going into the wild for birding as an amateur photographer, blogging and reading to escalate my learning would be one of my priorities. Obviously, imparting my prodigy to younger generations as a teacher would be no lesser than my priorities. At the same time, I have to remind myself about managing time with my family because it is the only source I can stand bold when I have nothing to look back. Blissful family has better meaning in life.

Every time I remind of death, it gives me meaning to live in a way it has to be; friendly, tender, helpful and compassionate. We shall never come back in this contemporary world again. We perish forever.

Insight view of English for Effective Communication

I fret writing about above topic because my write up will definitely have flaws but I in script with an intention to escalate my skills in English language. The Education fraternity takes another unprecedented training to all the teachers in order to create better education system in the country. Considering English as lingua franca in this contemporary world, ministry thought that it will immensely benefit every individual to articulate and contemplate in English. Irrespective of subjects, if a teacher cannot acquire English competency as expected, then it will be a baffling task to ignite language proficiency in the bloods of younger generation.

But at the same time, we heard lots of commotions being hovered throughout the nation. Some of us mentioned about conducting at incompatible timing. Due to erratic weather condition during monsoon, many of us had to travel through dampen roads and due to numerous road blocks, we were stranded for few days without proper place to stay. Many of us wished if it was conducted during winter break.

Since its inception from primary grades, we have been imbibing English language and yet we see many flaws in four strands; reading, writing, listening and speaking. This training was conducted to mainly identify hitches and overcome hurdles while using English as a means of communication. The body language, pronunciation, grammar, intonation, fluency, vocabulary and gesture are the components of English. Without above components, one can never gain prodigy in English. Indubitably I am optimistic that, one can never develop these skills over a night. We have to practice ceaselessly. This training should be given to everyone in order to have better communication, lively living hood and a better place to live in.

THANK YOU MINISTRY OF EDUCATION.

Livelihood in secluded place.

We are deprived of better facilities, greater opportunities and livelihood lessons. Serving in one of the less metropolitan places keeps us away from all the activities carried out in metropolitan areas. Mightier show like Mountain Echoes is held in capital and 100’s of us who wish to listen live cannot make it. Can’t they hold the show in different places rather than organizing in same place repeatedly? Recently, I was surfing through social media and I found that few stars will soon hit Bhutan to commemorate bilateral relationship with South Korea. This time, many youth wanted to be a part of the show but could not make it too. What could have happened if it was performed in other Dzongkhags? Many people would have enjoyed the show. There could be cultural exchange and numerous people popping in from other places to share and learn how people lived in secluded places.

Despite all these greater show, we have better show to play. We walk 100s of Kilometer on foot. Carry heavy loads on our back and reach the place after sweating day and night. Sometimes we get stranded amidst the road and sleep without food and shelter. The power supply shuts down often for a week or more and we live and prepare plans under candle light. Our parents have to wait for a month or two for the money to reach their place because we live without broadband or mobile internet facilities to do transactions. When a minor in metropolis relish unlimited network like 3G and 4G, we land up calling our comrades to Google and clear our qualms. In fact, it is appalling to hear people complaining shortfalls being in cities. And this is what I believe – Human desire never gets satiated.

Serving in secluded place have other means of living livelihood. If not taken seriously, one can develop a habit of drinking and gambling. But this is not a solution to find a solace. We can imbibe habit of reading and writing. These two phenomena are the main source of building personal skills and better quality of being human. Engaging ourselves in recreational activities like ball games could have immense benefit; mentally, spiritually and physically. The most fascinating moment being in rich biodiversity is to become an amateur photographer. We can see our richness through the lens. These qualities will abate us from treading to bigger cities.

There are many more that is being organized in urban areas which are missed by the people living in secluded place but at the same time metropolitan do miss richness in cultural biodiversity and livelihood in remote places. I will definitely have 1000s of pages to narrate when I leave this secluded place - Zhemgang.

Gratitude to Dear Mom and Dad:

Life isn't so easy
Afflictive being too busy
I often forget about you
But not out of blue.

I gaze at your forlorn image
You protected us with sublime plumage
You intruded through sweat and blood
Baffled agony not less than flood

You groomed us without destitude
Taught us lessons without attitude
A comrade whom i can epitomize
Your words of wisdom i still memorize.

Death is imminent
Live forever with you is not convienent
You will always be in my heart
No matter how far we depart.

We pray for your longevity.
Thank you Mom and Dad.

If we lose a teacher...

The abrupt of salary for local leaders has instigated infinite thoughts among many people. It is important to have local leaders to look after the welfare of the people and bring development in solitude places. The government has accomplished most of their pledges and I am a firm believer of their politics.
But when they escalated wages for those local leaders, did they ever thought of civil servants and it's repercussions. Sooner or later, countless civil servants will opt for the post of local leaders. More over i fret if 100's of teachers leave their peofession to take part in next LG election. Other sectors would not feel the resonance of losing their members but Education Ministry would definitely feel the pinch.
Losing a teacher epitomize lost of experienced educator resulting in demolishing quality of education.  Yesteryear, the government stated additional ngultrum of 3500 as rent allowance. But this time when they increased the amount it was bountiful.
Teachers have been on the lips of every people stating their torment living style. But then when it comes to avenues, teachers are given the least priority. Incentives are compareless. It is said that, sooner there will be staff quarters and many more professional development programs but i think it will take decades.
If we want to retain our experienced teachers, few things like working environment, incentives, salary and infrastructure facilities should be given first priority. Most of the teachers in remote schools have to walk day and night. Some have to stay in a hut without proper roofing and i heard them accumulating rain water that pinned from the roof to save themselves from getting drenched.
There is a concern about teaching history subject in our dialect and dearth of Dzongkkha teachers. But if we enroll students of Taktse College with integration of teaching modules, the tremor could be adulterated at certain point because they are the pioneer of Dzongkha language. Most of them remain unemployed after their graduation and some leave for other countries to work which is totally absurd.
Teachers are the ones who shapes future generation. They are the ones who mingle with young leaders all the time. If the living style and value of a teacher is given more priority then the future of a nation is preserved.

Educator’s Day, 2017

2/05/2017

Teachers are considered as the most decisive catalyst in shaping our future citizen. Many a time people say, teachers are the ones who made doctors, engineers and many more important office goers. As a teacher myself, I know how baffling it is to be a teacher and the most to work with students of different abilities. We all know that, a life is neither a bed of roses nor our wishes are horses and if it is so, even a beggar would ride and this epitomize a life of a teacher. The Ministry of Education has come up with various methodologies to escalate learning and educating students. When the system introduces new strategies, the resonating movement is first felt by the teachers. It is an additional pinch for the teachers but at the same time it creates avenues for students and teachers to learn more. When other office goers is on holiday with their families, the teachers work relentlessly planning for the next lesson. When other officers are on official tour, it is the teacher who makes tour within classrooms. Despite obligation, teachers work beyond office hour. Some work till late night while others work on Sundays. But only the teachers know how endearing it is to be a teacher despite numerous hurdles.

Unlike yesteryear, the celebration was extraordinary. We have seen Principal preparing before a week. Students were cordially preparing in MP hall but we never thought teacher’s day would go beyond our imagination. We were ushered to MP hall with chibdrel procession and hover over red carpeted floor. At that moment, I felt daunted, confused and even felt goose bumps all over the body because I have never seen teachers convoyed in this manner. But later I realized that, the only reason why people say, “ teachers are the most important person” could be of these covert values. The celebration was a collaboration of parents, NFE members and students. The unity signifies the importance of community. Different items were presented by various groups. When the presentation was going on, small students were searching their teachers to present a gift as a token of gratitude.
The day was exquisitely organized. Teachers were made to feel how important it is to be in this noble profession. It’s important for a teacher to have platform where we can rejuvenate and feel the sense of being a great educator. Teachers have to face parent pressure, public criticism and enormous work load but at the end of the day, the most priceless gift is shaping a child. “ A teacher affects eternity; he can never tell where his influence stops.” – Henry Adams.

An inquisitive odyssey to Eastern Dzongkhag

I started my journey at 7 am from Zhemgang to eastern Dzongkhag. A week earlier I received a call letter from JICA Office stating that I shall attend HPE festival at Kidheykhar MSS, Mongar. Ms Kanea Aida from Japan who is currently working in our school as HPE instructor for 2 years accompanied me. My visit to eastern Dzongkhag was unfamiliar and it resembles with my counterpart.
I have decided to venture along Panbang highway which was newly constructed and it still requires final touch. I drove on bumpy road and straddled through deep holes resonating for quite sometime and such baffling road engulf more synergy. It was a mundane driving but sublime scene and elegant waterfall reinforced me to drive further. Place like Panbang which is popularly known as LK(Lower Kheng) is rich in biodiversity and it consist of the great Manas river and the Royal Manas Park.
Waterfall, Panbang highway

Travelling through Panbang to Nganglam isn't too long but treacherous and dampen road impedes smooth driving. We made to Nganglam at around 3 pm without any knowledge of many places and we were not sure whether we were treading the expected road. Listening to a mixture of old oriental and occidental songs added flavour which made us savour every moment.

After reaching Nganglam town, I asked vendors near by the shops about the road to Pemagatshel. The valuable etiquette such as taking off their hats and standing up when they talk with new people still prevail. I shall encourage my students to imbibe this value instead of practicing indolent demeanor. We even came across destitute families who had austere living

style when people in metropolitan drives luxurious car. We headed towards Pemagatshel crossing small Telung bridge which will be replaced by enormous bridge few years later.

The most daunting road was between Nganglam and Pemagatshel. It was constructed recently and I surmise the road was still not handed to the government. Since the road was made out of gravels, we failed to reach Pemgatshel on stipulated time. But sooner or later, this road will be the highway between Nganglam and Pemagatshel benefiting thousands of commuters.

When we were about to reach, we were confounded with multiple road diversions and waited for a miracle. Alas! I met a comrade who was travelling to same destination and he informed us to follow him. It was 9:30 pm when we arrived near new Pemagatshel Dzong which is still under construction. He parked his car near his home and said, "Where do you want to go?" I said that we are new here and heading to Mongar tomorrow. Tonight I want to stay in hotel. With a smile on his face, he said "There is no hotel to lodge and more over the shops will be closed because it's already 9:30 pm." I was shock to know about a prefecture without hotels and restaurant to quell hunger. I started seeking solace in dark alienated place. It was so kind of him to offer us his guest house and even delicious supper. Later he said that he is a project manager in one of the offices. I thought he was a God in disguise and in deed he was a philanthropist. Early morning we thanked him and his family for the salvation from winter chill and hunger even though we could not meet them because we started our jouney before dawn. We travelled through Wamrong which consists of few buildings and better shops than Pemagatshel.

Khaling, Tashigang
Tashigang town is settled on terrain slope and it is too crowded for commuters to park their car. The traffic gets jammed in a short period of time. We were stranded for few minutes. Finally we reached Kidheykhar Middle Secondary School and met with participants from different regions and JICA volunteers. Mongar is one of the exquisite places in Bhutan and it has enormous clustered town. I would always wish to make second visit to explore and rejuvenate adventurous zeal.

Lesson learned:
1. Always prepare pithy itinerary before travelling.
2. Respect people regardless of their lure.
3. Help needy people if you are "Being Human."

PS: With an attitude of gratitude, I sincerely thank Project Manger and the family, Pemagatshel Dzongkhag for being so generous. I wish to meet you someday and create good memories together.

Reminiscing an odyssey to Kheng, Zhemgang

Zhemgang Central School - A
On 1st March, 2013 after appearing RCSE, me and my wife headed towards Zhemgang from Thimphu. It was 5:30 am when we started from my sister's place. The moment I got placed in Zhemgang, my zeal to teach future generations diminished. But i had no choice then to move as if i was jubilant over my placement. But i was quite happy to have my wife placed in same Dzongkhag. The most baffling moment was that three of us (me, my wife & driver ) are new to those places after Trongsa town. We climbed up hills, crossed enormous by pass and straddled through mighty holes and treacherous road along the high way.
Zhemgang Dzong
We came across exquisite views and also turbulent times through dampen and lengthy road. I thought that, now its very close to Zhemgang after reaching Trongsa town but we were still 5 hours behind when I realize now. We were looking at each other after every few hours and i could surmise from their faces what they were thinking about - reaching destination. I could see her eyes filled with tears and completely frustrated. It was almost 7 pm when we reached near Wangdigang and I saw a light perched on a hill and i couldn't distinguish between a star and a home light. It was a street light fixed behind Zhemgang Dzong. Finally we thought we are nearing but it took so long to reach Zhemgang town. Then we reached town after torment journey which took almost 14 hours.                                                            Sadly without a notice we were at the end of the town within few minutes.                                                          You can think of how big the town is.

Our turbulent times bestowed us with good memories and being placed in Zhemgang is a bliss. Inquisitive place has showered me with pithy discoveries and life long lessons. Now I am acquainted and fallen in love with this place, I will definitely have sublime memories to narrate someday somewhere. When I came to Zhemgang, I had agonizing and sorrowful feelings and with deep reverence when I leave this place i will have similar emotions.

Nothing Last Forever...

It was during midst of summer in Thimphu when Depa met with fatal accident on his way to Bumthang. It was foggy and a gush of wind could be felt through half raised window over slight acceleration of the car. The uninvited calamity, a menace intruded while driving back to home. He went Thimphu for a workshop leaving behind his wife who was conceived for six months. He left Thimphu unwillingly with enormous affliction because of his wife who was in dire need of him. He could do nothing but to accord.
An accident occured at Lam Pelri.
It was ten years back when Depa and Selzin got introduced to each other in one of the school sport meets. Since then they promised to have trust and faith in their immortal affair. Despite being in school, they kept on having excursions surreptitiously and relished relentlessly. They graduated from same college and they were transfered in one of the offices in Bumthang. Selzin considered herself as the most fortunate wife and prayed to have him in her life for all the generations she would be bestowed as human. They never had a quarrel that would hurt each other's sentiment. Their relationship was more of respect and integrity.
Suddenly she received a call from Depa's number. She directly said, "Depa... i have reminded you not to call while driving." To her surprise, it was a voice of a commuter who helped Depa to reach at hospital. "Hello! I am Tashi using his phone. I saw Darling in his contact list and called you. I surmise you are a wife of Depa." Tashi shared the incident and asked her to report immediately at JDWNR hospital. She could not believe it. She requested him to reiterate. After hearing for the second time, she broke into tears holding her bloated stomach, a womb that holds Depa's child. After travelling for 10 hours through treacherous and dampened road, finally she reached hospital. A security guard ushered her to an emergency ward.
She could not utter a word and being near him was an additional agony. He was drenched with blood.
Depa said, " Selzin...it's time for me to go and i feel i won't last long. We have planned too much to make memories together and the time seems too less to accomplish. Things does not go as we wish mosh...."  Upon hearing few last words, Selzin broke into tears. She wished, if she could turn back the time. Then he suddenly looked at her bloated stomach. He kept his hand on it and said, "it deeply hurts me to leave without seeing my child.  A child who will be born without a father." Drops of tear rolled over his cheek.
Since the pain started grumbling all over his body through spines, he said Selzin that, these few sentences could be my last voice of our insatiable relationship. " If you can, please do not go for a second relationship because i fret of not having a person like me in your life. Always think i am aside of you holding your hands to overcome hurdles in your endeavor. Develop a moral crusade of love and compassion which will enhance livelihood.  I know it will be a daunting task to raise a child with a single parent but i am optimist that you will love her as much as you love me. Are you listening to me Selzin..?" The ECG machine started producing beeps. His heart beat started waning. And could only say a sentence before he closed his eyes forever. " My dear, thank you for being a sublime comrade and i will pray to have you in all my generations together........i...i love you so much."

Expect the unexpected calamity...

I am in dilemma whether to narrate or not. In the midst of the class right after lunch, the weather started becoming gloomy and few minutes later the rain started to grumble heavely. It was for few moment and the rain has stop and i went outside to check whether it has really gone.
My epiphany of students making malicious gossip while teaching made me furious. The act of drop, cover and hold by the students astonished me during the instruction of an activity.  I thought, hell! What's going on with these students? I went outside and saw other students running towards evacuation site which was identified during mock drill. And i surmised may be it's a mock drill for an earthquake. If it was, how did i miss the blow of a whistle?
Then i decided to send my students to an evacuation site covering their head with a book. Enormous congregation of students and teachers were made along the balcony of classrooms. Sooner or later we witnessed lightening and thunder simultaneously, and followed by heavy down pour. The quake made me seek my lesson plan and text book for quite sometime. Later i realised, i left it in the classroom while trying to save from the unconditional hazard.
The unprecedented event also made me realise how vital it is to conduct mock drill in schools regardless of risk factors. The erratic weather evoked daunting visionary and carved remarkable memories in the heart of many paramount learners and altruistic educators. Thank you, it was indeed a great rehearsal and a reminder to expect the unexpected chaos.
Have a blissful reading...                  1/08/2016

In Quest to Quench and Quell

It's been awhile without writing a piece of note. Today I lie down with deeper thought to keep my writing alive.

The value of a thing is best known when it is lost. The sense of need is pricked when it becomes shortfalls. Water is the most essential element in lives of every human kind. It's difficult to start a day without it. A place like Zhemgang which is considered as the least populated and developing realm is in dire need of water. Actually it should have enough water to quench thirst of all the households but it fails to provide even a bucket in a day. Can we imagine a teacher who stays in the school from 8 am till 5 pm and he/she needs to fetch water till 8 pm right after the school? But most of us in Zhemgang do. It's been 4 months without supply of water and accumulating has become a culture. The water at the source has dried up and we have no other option then to continue accumulating. I have been calculating the hours that I spend in fetching water. Its takes almost 3 hours in a day to fill all the empty vessels. In a week I spend priceless 21 hours. Actually these hours can be used in rejuvenating my profession which will directly benefit my students.

I do hear same issues being discussed in some places but the scenario is different. When we have a dinner it becomes 9:30 pm and after preparing lesson plan it stretches up to 11:30 pm. The moment i prostrate my body on the bed, it becomes 12 mid night. Teaching profession demands more time to explore and come up with daily pithy lesson planing which will help students learn better.  We need to prepare beguiling teaching learning materials which will keep the eyes of learners instantly. I have to compromise maximum intriguing plans and make sure I have my evening time with empty vessels somewhere else. It's quite baffling at times when a perished body needs to attend breathtaking moment right after the class.

I heard, the hard work is the key to success but I am quite confounded that this hard work may lead to a failure if it prolong. Besides teaching, fetching water has become a list in my daily hustle and bustle.
Have a Great Day!

Remarkable Journey...

Japan is one of the most popular and advanced countries in the world. I have just dreamt about it and never thought of visiting in my entire life. I even heard people saying, expect the unexpected and it just flashed into reality. I was given an opportunity to attend young leaders program on health and physical education at Kagoshima Prefecture, Japan.
My stay in Japan for 20 days was like a day who belongs to a country that resembles a prefecture in Japan. But i know every country has its own beauty. Metropolis is well developed with technology and we can hardly see things that need to be done manually.
I won't be fair if I do not share about the qualitities of Japanese. Punctuality and discipline stands at the top. Every Japanese understands about segregating waste. Every activity is well organised and systematic. If given an opportunity to stay for a year or two, i can guarantee that, our attitude and personal development would change rapidly. When ever i introduce myself as a Bhutanese, the first sentence they talk about is GNH and followed by;happiest country. My visit to Japan has given me a thought on my integrity and every step was worth walking. Personally i feel we have many more to learn and grow. The moment we stop learning, we stop living.

One can never pay in gratitude. -Anne Morrow Lindbergh

I can vaguely bear in mind about my childish days. I am born to a family who earns very low income as monthly wages. It was in 90’s that my father use to run our home with that amount in a month.. Now a days we can hardly get few commodities with that amount. To my astonishment, father use to send 5 children in the school as well as buy necessary home items. Education is one of the areas which demands lots of investment. I have seen my dad working under scorching sun and freezing rain. Spending almost a day carrying a sack full of sand along a steep slope. I can clearly remember that, dad and mom have neither left us bare foot nor clothe less. We were given every essential needs that would keep us alive and lead us to an independent survivor.

My father worked relentlessly and we gave our best endeavor to study hard. Mother didn’t fail to accomplish her household chores and the situation was perfect even though there was seldom blood, tear and turmoil. I got the best education quality and my sisters couldn’t move further to tertiary education. Now they are married and stays at home. I am the only son and the only sibling working as a civil servant. I am working in one of the solitary Dzongkhags which I believe is the best place to build our capacity to face turbulent times.

Today, as I try to flash back with hard and gentle moments, I am filled with lots of responsibilities and commitment to be made to my parents. To pay my deep respect for what they did to me. These words remain as words and commitments as procrastination. I hardly spend time and share good memories with them. Today my parents are walking in the early 60’s and giving their best to make old bones. I have my deep reverence and very thankful for their unconditional love but I know I can never pay in gratitude.

Life of a provocative teacher.

In the entire universe, there are lots of activities being carried out relentlessly. We have distraught war, criticism, ecumenical actions among fanatical people and many more. The world is filled with love and hatred, marriage and broken relationship. We have million of job seeker suffering from mental fatigue despite having unrealistic jobs around the world. Teaching is considered as a noble profession who educates and aid the learners to embark desirable destination. Great renown philosophers termed teachers as Gurus which epitomize “master of all.” Teachers are said to be the right person to elevate paramount leaders and pious citizen.
Life of a teacher almost resemble life of Buddha who had sacrificed and bestowed altruistic support. We have almost 40% of troglodyte teachers working in solitary places in spite of having their families settled in metropolitan area. In order to teach few students, they have to walk days to reach school. Most of the teachers serving in solitary places forfeit luxurious living style which is immensely savored by metropolis. All the teachers sacrificing for the well being of others are someone’s father, mother, relatives and loved ones. Teachers are facing the most hectic moments and still we are questioned by everybody if things are not done properly. Parents come to the school with loads of clarifications indeed trying to create commotion and chaos being oblivion of hardships rendered by teachers. We have a pithy aphorism in Bhutanese, “ Ta so wei drilaan doktse.”
We are the first person to justify when their children gets involved in misconduct and even when they have mediocre performance. Is it the only obligation of a teacher. Where does parents responsibility lie? It is said that education begins at home. Parents aspect miracle to happen at the end without relentless support and persistent determination. Teachers need to do lots of paper works which encompass lesson planning, continuous assessment, class work and home work. It also include scrap book, journal and project work corrections. We have to correct around 230 note books in a month. The work of a teacher is never a piece of cake. Apart from academic teaching, we have to carry out co-curricular activities and remedial classes. We hardly get time to spend with friends and families. “Sacrifice” is the motto of a teacher.

We never feel the pleasure of being on the summit of the mountain unless we have been in the deepest of the valley. We are HUMAN BEING not a SYSTEM DEVICES.

Milieu of Special and Inclusive Education in Bhutan

Special Education or widely known as Inclusive Education has been introduced in our country in early 2000. This mission was started with vague idea on special needs. Few schools were selected as pilot schools to render expedient learning to those differently able students. As of now, we have 10 pilot schools and two special schools. My school is one of the pilot schools since 2011.This system demands lots of specialist and realistic framework. Bhutanese are hardly into this line. Most of us are directly introduced into the system without proper training. It’s like carrying 100s of tons on our back.
The system has been a mandate for a teacher to teach special children without knowing the concept of special and inclusive education. It is said that, if we want to become a great leader, first we have to become a great person. Teaching differently able children oblige various skills and strategies. We come across different students with different special needs. Some of the disabilities are autism, impairment, delayed mental growth, cerebral palsy, learning disabilities (dyslexia, dysgraphia) etc. We need different skills to teach those disabilities. Most of the time, we employ foreigners to work with us and set meticulous policy. I feel it is high time for us to become skilled and well trained teachers.
Pilot schools are given at least 4 workshops in a year demanding around 4 to 5 participants. If we really calculate the amount for these short-term training, it will come around Nu.1500000 to 2000000. The participants will go back home with handful of cash and inadequate knowledge. I know the organizers are doing for the betterment of the program but I feel the training doesn’t achieve the goals of GNH in depth. Instead of having those short–term training or inviting foreigners, it would be very momentous to provide at least long-term specialized course in developed countries with that amount spent in short-term training. A specialized Bhutanese will make a difference in students learning as well as provide aid to his/her colleagues and the specialized skills will remain in the country forever.
It is high time for us to make a call, a call for a change and a call for a good cause.

This write up doesn't intend to go against any policies. It is a personal view.

Live as if today is the last day of your life

In this ambitious world of human breed, we are controlled by despicable greed and wants. We tend to be insufficient and oblivion knowing the fact, nothing last forever. Invincible mind and capricious thoughts overtake the livelihood of human kind. We are said that Bhutanese are the true followers of Buddha but we lack in having the qualities of being Buddha.
If site an example, if a person looks pretty good and quite wealthy, then the people around him/her become jealous. The seed of hatred and envy develops through small issues meaninglessly. Hatred and  jealously is the primary cause of evil deeds. We tend to become typical Buddhist by offering butter lamps, commodities and cash during auspicious days. I believe that, we need not have to really do these things if our heart and thoughts are serene and tranquil. It's always better to be gentle and imbibe the qualities of being human. We need to become a philanthropist if possible.
At the end of the day, neither we can take the things that we have spent lots of hardship nor the amounts that have been accumulated for decades. Everyone of us have to face unbiased DEATH and we can only take the blessings earned being a great person.  Live each day as your last day and savor each moment by helping other sentient beings.
